michael Jackson: the good stuff
From age 5 and a few years thereafter I enjoyed the tunes of the big MJ. His Thriller video scared the crap out of me and Billy Jean was my favorite song. Michael was a superstar, and being at the precious age that I was, I had no idea about his strange tendencies.
I didn’t know about the questions of his sexuality, I didn’t know about his marriages, and I certainly didn’t know about his obsession with little boys.
The tide quickly turned against Michael in a way that no one could have predicted. Instead of being a respected black icon through history, he turned into a disfigured white pedophile. In a strangely prophetic Simpson’s episode, Jackson played an ugly delusional mental patient with a heart of gold:
The resounding question that is always left in my mind throughout all the controversy is as such: Is Michael Jackson a genuis?
Throughout history, the most accomplished individuals are often tortured and misunderstood souls. Sure, I believe Jackson is guilty… however, his outrageous habits could also be interpreted as his stifled genius struggling to get out.
Michael has an obsession with perfection. He succeeded in perfecting his dance steps but could not go further than that. His face, once average, was not good enough. He grew dependent on plastic surgery until he ruined his looks. The world, cruel and harsh, was not satisfactory for Mike. He wanted to change it for the better and to become a better person.
Michael channeled the energy of children because of his need for purity and, once again, perfection. Who can blame him? In his boundless efforts to achieve a utopia within himself and in the universe, Jackson crossed a line. Michael Jackson was not supplied with the proper resources to make all the changes that he hoped for, and for that he suffered.
Michael Jackson now remains as a broken man, a hopeless child. The present and future will only contain dispair until the inevitable end. That he didn’t want to do good is a falsity, that he didn’t stuggle for exemplory causes is a mistatement, and that he was too complex for his time is a certain possibility.
